Run For Shelter

Dear Race Participant & Supporter,

We regret that “Run for Shelter has been cancelled due to low registration. While we had hoped for a banner crowd to join us, there are many wonderful and admirable events & organizations to support here in Rome. We encourage you to join NAMI at Roam in Rome at Heritage Park at 9am. NAMI has been providing support, advocacy and training to the Rome community around the issue of mental illness.

We especially hope that you will continue to find ways to support the work of the William S. Davies Homeless Shelters, Inc. The Shelter, located at 132 East 18th Street currently provides housing for 16 men. The Ruth and Naomi Project, a shelter for women and children, is slated to open end of 2018. We welcome your financial contributions (as a registered 501c3, we provide a tax receipt), volunteerism, and continued involvement with community events.

On Sunday afternoon at 5:30pm, the final screening of the Rome International Film Festival will be the film “Miss Arizona.” It will shown at the Rome City Auditorium and $5 of each ticket sold ($10) will come back to the program.
